Our EFL young player of the year predictions
1.

Jobe Bellingham
If 2023 was Jude Bellingham’s, perhaps 2024 will end up being that of brother Jobe.
Physically he is a real athlete, protects the ball well, while technical relishes duels, is a capable ball-carrier from deep, covers the ground well, and is overly dominant in the way he plays; exerting himself on the opposition and relishing the mantle as the ‘main man’.
He is already hugely ahead of the curve in terms of his development and plays with the intelligence and maturity like a player many years his senior.
A superb talent that has all of the qualities you need to play at the top of the game.
2.

Matus Holicek
Crewe Alexandra have a strong reputation within the industry for developing young players.
The midfielder is – as of 2024 – now capped by his country at youth level, and I think that this year is when he rubber-stamps his reputation as not just a talented, young prospect, but one who is so in the present as well.
One of the standout traits of all young players who go on to do well is to get first-team exposure and see minutes at an early age, and the extent of his first-team exposure is only going to be beneficial in him allowing him to improve. A total of 16 appearances for The Railwaymen at 18 is quite the achievement.
3.

A strong and robust forward that is quick and agile in his movement, Kone has all of the physical attributes you would want from a striker.
Kone arrives having spent time in non-league, and has been training with The Chairboys. And, after a number of different problems preventing the deal, Kone has signed forms for Wanderers and has already got off the park in Wanderers colours.
The forward represents an astute addition for Wycombe Wanderers
