The premier league title race this season is incredibly enthralling. This is due to numerous reasons, over the last 10 years, there has been only one league season with three teams competing for the premier league trophy.
Most of the time it is two teams battling it out head to head. The last one i remember is back in 2014 where you had Manchester city, Liverpool and Chelsea. The premier league has featured incredible rivalries in the past, however in recent years the stakes have only gone higher with the points tally being increased as well as the goal tallys.
Manchester City
Manchester City have broke the record for most consecutive home wins by a Premier League team across all competitions.
Manchester City, champions for the last 3 seasons and treble winners last season. Man city are always favourites to win the league every season now it seems. Since pep Guardiola has been in charge since 2016 Manchester City have won 5 premier league titles that is 5 titles in 7 seasons for pep Guardiola.
Man city have consolidated themselves as the team to beat in the premier league. Despite having spent heaps of money in the early stages of their ownership from Abu Dhabi group, manchester city are now self sustaining as a model club which prioritise youth, facilities and coaching.
There are many factors still left to consider this season in particular, they are aiming for another treble, into the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions League, that could prove a distraction as they have many games still left to play in a condensed period of time.
The main factor going in man city's favour is their experience and coach. Man city have been proven to to show that under pressure they always rise up and show their quality.
My prediction is that Manchester City will win the Premier League.
Arsenal
The Gunners are the form team in 2024, scoring 21 goals in their five league games during January and February.
Arsenal have shown in recent years that they can accumulate points to compete in the later stages of the season. Last year they came very close to dethroning Manchester city, however their Achilles heal is the final stage of the season where the pressure is great. Arsenal have been known to play attractive football, mirroring a similar style to man city.
This season however Arsenal have boasted the best defence in the division, which differentiates them from the last season which made them fall at the last hurdle. A key improvement in that department was necessary in order to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool.
Arsenal similar to Manchester City have to play in the quarter finals of the champions league and could end up facing Manchester City in the semi-finals which could pose as an advantage to Liverpool.
With arsenal a year wiser and especially with the experience of last season they have more reason to feel confident in winning their first league title in 20 years.
My prediction is arsenal will finish 2nd
Liverpool
Labelled mentality monsters, Liverpool lead the way in late goals, (the most in the final 15 minutes).
Liverpool have seen a return to form this season as they suffered severely last season finishing in 5th position below Newcastle. Summer signings have helped Jurgen Klopp however the main reason they have been able to compete this season has been his trusted seniors such as Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
This has been viewed as a continuation of a transition faze for Liverpool however with the news of Klopp leaving at the end of the season this has given Liverpool that extra motivation to win the league for him.
Liverpool are still in the UEFA Europa League although to this point Liverpool had the ability to rotate their squad in order to focus on the league, the competition has entered its final points and Liverpool will have to consider both competitions.
My Prediction is that Liverpool will finish 3rd
